"Bunopas (1981) noted, however, that the Doi Kong Mu Formation is overlain by Middle Permian limestone to the NW of Mae Sariang in southern Mae Hong Son Province" (Ueno & Charoentitirat, 2011)

Regional extent

Northern Region: Mae Hong Son province. Correlation: Fang Red-beds Fm, Mae Tha Gr

Age

Late Carboniferous (provisional assignment). " Based on its relationship with the Middle Permian limestone, Bunopas (1981) concluded that the formation is probably Carboniferous, but further stratigraphic work is necessary to confirm this."Relative ages for Mae Tha Fm, Fang Red-beds Fm and Doi Kong Mu Fm are arbitrary, because contacts are not known; and these may be coeval facies variations to some extent.
